Mark Antin, Principal, is an
innovator familiar with
the challenges of extracting profit from chaotic and
dynamic environments. As founder of Digital Hearing, Inc.,
he obtained patents on underwater signal detection technology
to enhance speech in noisy environments for the
hearing impaired.
Using signal detection and computer modeling applied
to investments, he led successful trading campaigns
at Kerber, Inc. He founded Kohera in 2002 to refine a
systematic and algorithmic approach to reduces the
volatility typically found in most investment practices.
After a two year research and validation phase by his
team of quantitative specialists, Kohera began managing
investments using its systematic processes exclusively.
David Zawistowski, Empirical Analyst,
joined Kohera
to investigate algorithmic trading strategies drawn from
both academic and industry practice.
A physicist (Denison University) and electrical engineer
(Columbia University) by training, he interest was in designing
an original platform for developing and back-testing strategies.
His academic research in photo-detachment (the removal of an
electron from an atom) was highly useful in his work at Kohera.
He compared actual measurements vs. theoretic results
(Physical Review A, vol 4, Dec. 2001) and devised simulations
of non-linear effects.
Mr. Zawistowski’s academic training and research experience
have laid the cornerstones on which Kohera has built its
quantitative systems.
Radha Panini, Quantitative Strategist,
conducts original
quantitative research in systems design, testing and deployment.
Her doctoral work (Stony Brook University) applied Mellin
integral transforms to the pricing of American options on a
basket of stocks which led to a more tractable and
numerically-efficient solution.
As Dr. Panini began to question assumptions fundamental
to academic finance, she became interested in the true,
unconstrained character of price behavior in equity markets.
Kohera’s empirical approach to solving real-world problems
offered an ideal blend of theory and practice for her.
Building and testing the algorithmic trading systems at
Kohera has applied her academic training in highly practical
and considerably more profitable ways.
